CARBONDALE � The Centralia Annies hit a pair of homers and then held on to edge Carbondale 7-5 in the South 7 opener for both teams.
Hannah Tomlianovich’s two-run homer in the third gave Centralia a 3-0 lead.
The Terriers answered with two in the bottom half of the frame. Savannah Talley led off with a no-doubter shot to left to cut it to 3-1. Later in the inning, Kate Crombar doubled in Clair Beaupre to cut it to 3-2.
Taylor Henson led off the fourth with home run to push Centralia’s lead back to 4-2. The Annies tacked on three more in the top of the fifth and then held on for the win to remain unbeaten on the season.
