(WSIL) -- Three holiday tournaments kicked off in southern Illinois Thursday - The Eldorado Holiday Tournament, Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament and the Pinckneyville Duster Thomas Hoops Classic.
Pinckneyville is the top seed in their tournament and looked dominant, crushing Elverado 82-15.
Dawson Yates led the way with 25 points and was 9 of 11 from the floor.
During the second half Dre Scott showed a shooters touch, he chipped in with 11 points.
Woodlawn is moving on in the winners bracket, 66-53 winners over Meridian. Blake McKay was 12 of of 19 from the floor and had a game high 30 points.
Also from Pinckneyville, Olney gets by Trico 60-53 over and Carlyle upsets 5th seeded Benton 49-41.
At Sesser-Valier, both top seeded Goreville and Christopher won and advanced. Goreville crushes Galatia 70-33 and Christopher clobbers Century 76-47.
Overtime was needed in game 4 from Sesser-Valier as Red Bud was a 63-56 winner over Sparta and Odin knocks off Zeigler-Royalton 63-39.
Cobden holds off Johnston City 50-41 and Marissa-Coulterville advances with a 57-29 win over Waltonville.
At Eldorado, defending tournament champion Fairfield looks like they will be a tough out again. Fairfield wallops Gallatin County 87-42
Kane Hixenbaugh showed some range, he can hit the three, and chipped in with 15 points. Landon Zurliene got hot and led the way with 23 points for the Mules. Fairfield hit two buzzer beaters and nearly a third. Noah Mcelravy beat the horn right before the half, it was that kind of night for Fairfield.
Dawson Hish led Gallatin County with 20 points.
West Frankfort showed a well balanced scoring attack in their 68-37 win over Hamilton County. Redbirds had four players score in double-figures. Quincy king led the way with 15 points, Josh Melvin (13) Isaiah Thompson (10), and Andrew Cunningham (10),
Tyce Gorden led the Foxes with 15 points.
