WSIL � Sesser-Valier and Nashville each punched their tickets for the sectional championship games with wins on Wednesday night.
Tyler Winchester and Seth Boles combined for 36 to lead the Red Devils past Cairo 53-47 at the Gallatin County 1A Sectional. S-V will face Woodlawn Friday night for the championship. The winner of Friday’s title game will advance to the SIU Supersectional Tuesday night.
In 2A, state number one Nashville cruised to the Du Quoin Sectional championship by whipping West Frankfort 54-31. Bryce Bultman led the Hornets with 24. Nashville will face fifth ranked Marquette in Friday night’s championship game, with the winner headed to to the SIU Supersectional.
At Vandalia, Teutopolis beat Mt. Carmel 47-37, so it will be the Wooden Shoes and Fairfield Friday night for a sectional title and a date in the SIU Supersectional.
In 3A, Salem ended Mt. Vernon’s season 53-39 at the Salem Regional. The Wildcats will face Highland Friday night for the title.
At Freeburg, Herrin took care of Columbia 61-45, as the Tigers move on to the championship game where they will face Althoff Friday night.
Breese Mater Dei advanced to the title game at Breese Central by beating the hosts 56-55. The Knights will get East St. Louis in the championship game Friday night.
