John A. Logan Pitcher Drew Pestka commits to University of Tennessee

CARTERVILLE, IL (WSIL) - Back in July we shared the story of John A. Logan pitcher and Carterville native drew Pestka's journey to the MLB draft.
The righty was picked by the reds in the 18th round, but after weighing his options, he decided to return to Logan.
The Carterville grad will call himself a Volunteer in our area for one more year and then will join the SEC volunteers.
Pestka was 7-2 last season in 14 starts for Logan.
The rising sophomore had a 3.69ERA in 68 1/3rd innings for the Volunteers.
He comes back Logan for his second year and then its off to Rocky Top.
Now that he returns he hopes to see his draft stock rise in a future draft after he declined to sign with the reds.
The former Lion's path to the draft will come as a member of UT.
The orange and white have won 6 NCAA regional titles and have 6 appearances in the College World Series.
