GOREVILLE, IL (WSIL) -- Southern Illinois remembers a former four-sport athlete who was killed in car crash.

Jordan Davidson Memorial Playground Dedication brings community together

On Saturday, they honored Jordan Davidson.

He was a Goreville teen and a playground was dedicated in Goreville with a ribbon cutting in his honor.

Jordan's mother Amanda helped officially open the playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The playground is now up and running and is free to use.

It was a very hard day for family, friends and those who knew Jordan. His mother shared how loved he was by everybody.

We spoke with a local fireman who helped train Jordan on a volunteer basis.

"He was fun to be around, he was always energetic, always hung out with every body, did not know a stranger," said fireman David Howard.
