CARTERVILLE (WSIL) — John A. Logan sophomore Jay Scrubb is one of 34 invitees to the USA Basketball men’s 19 and under World Cup team training camp set for mid-June.
Scrubb averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds a game last year for the Volunteers.
The camp runs June 15-18 in Colorado Springs and will be used to decide the official 12-player roster for the FIBA World Cup in Greece at the end of June.
Former Saluki head coaches Bruce Weber and Matt Painter are heavily involved in the process. Weber will be the head coach, while Painter is the chair of the Junior National Team Committee who will pick the roster.
Finalists for the team will be announced June 18.
