Marion High School holds champions celebration to honor Wildcats Cross Country team
We had some state champions return home from Peoria.
The Marion Cross Country team celebrated their new state title with the community.
The hardware is home and will rest with Marion.
The wildcats are the first cross country team south of I-64 to ever win a state championship, and that's why they received a champions welcome.
Senior Dylon Nalley and coach Scott Gill were side by side as the school held a championship celebration in the honor of the team.
Marion mayor Mike Absher was on hand and shared how happy he was not just for the team but also for the city and for all of Williamson County.
Nalley repeated as the class 2A boys medalist, but he wants this title to be all about his team not his performance.
Congrats again to the Wildcats Cross Country team, they will remember this one forever.
