BENTON, IL (WSIL) - A pair of Benton basketball players are giving back to the community.

Rangers rising senior Docker Tedeschi and recent Ranger grad and new Saluki Isaac Billington are sharing their knowledge of the game to kids in the area.

The pair are spending time bonding with kids in the region by trying to make them better players.

They started the camp right before the school year ended and plan to continue it on Sunday afternoons after school starts back up.

We caught up with both Tedeschi and Billington, who said the idea for the camp actually came from some local fans who wanted more hoops.

"We've had a couple people ask us are you going to do something like this and we were thought it would not be a bad idea," said Tedeschi. "We hope to help out kids in our town and maybe make our teams a little better. We are chasing a state championship just like they are."

"We never really thought about it, and then you towards the end of basketball season we thought, you know this would look really good for us and our community," said Billington. "[We hope] to just give back from our state tournament run. They gave us so much and we thought, lets give it a shot."
