MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Patrick Morey was announced as the new Field Manager for the Thrillville Thrillbillies on Friday.
Morey will take the place of Ralph Santana. Santana will stay with Thrillville as the General Manager.
Morey is said to bring a winning culture and has a vision for future success with the Thrillbillies, both on and off the field.
Morey is also the Assistant Baseball Coach at John A. Logan College. He is reported to have one of the best pitching staffs, bringing with it many records and recording 532 strikeouts in 2021. This led his team to rank 11th across the nation in strikeouts. 26 players have earned NCAA Division 1 scholarships with four going professional since 2018.
The Thrillbillies also stated in a release Coach Morey's resume, which includes roles with the Danville Dans, McCook Community College, and Mount Michael Benedictine High School.
Morey also earned two Gold Glove selections and was the 2008 All-GPAC Relief Pitcher.
“During our search, we prioritized finding someone with a winning culture and strong ties to the ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois community,â€ said Thrillbillies General Manager Ralph Santana. “Coach ‘Moâ€ not only embodies these qualities but also brings valuable experience from his time in Summer Collegiate baseball with the Danville Dans. He was a perfect fit for the role, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him lead our team.â€
“I look forward to continuing the winning philosophy of this organization while taking an aggressive approach on offense to pressure opponents. On the pitching side, our focus will be on simplicity—throwing strikes and making opponents earn every base. I’m also committed to fostering connections between our players and the community, whether through fan interactions at Mtn Dew Park or engaging in local events beyond the ballpark gates.
