St. Louis Cardinals Caravan stops in Marion
MARION, Ill. -- Spring training can not get here soon enough.
The Saint Louis Cardinals continued its tradition of coming to our region ahead of the season.
Caravan number 6 made its stop today in ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois.
This caravan featured several young and up-and-coming players.
The Cardinals took over the Marion Cultural and Civic Center.
Saint Louis Outfielder and First Baseman Alec Burleson was the headliner at the event.
Fans had the chance to ask the players anything they wanted.
Then, of course, it was time for autographs.
We spoke with a current and former Cardinal, and they say they love coming back to ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois to share and spread the love of Cardinal Nation.
"It's awesome!" Burleson said "I love doing these caravans, being able to meet the fans face to face and talk to them and interact and sign some autographs. It's cool to see you get to see the support. You understand how much fans are passionate about the game and about the Cardinals Organization. It's extremely special."
This was a really cool event.
The Cardinals will open the 2024 season on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers on March 28.
