December 4th Evening Weather with Meteorologist Jacie Brianne
CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It was a pretty nice afternoon. High temperatures were back above average. However, a cold front is expected overnight. This will bring big changes by Thursday morning.
The cold front will move through, turning winds back out of the northwest. They will also be gusty, near 20 to 25 mph. Temperatures Thursday morning will plummet into the teens. The teens accompanied by the wind, will drop wind chills into the single digits.Â
Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout the day Thursday, but that won't help much with the cold. High temperatures will be near 20 degrees below average. Highs will only rise into the upper 20s.Â
The bitter cold will stick around into Friday morning, with more temperatures in the teens. By the afternoon a slow warming trend will begin. It will still be cold, and highs will be below average, but they will climb back into the 30s.Â
The warm-up will continue into the weekend. Temperatures Saturday will top out in the 40s, followed by the 50s Sunday. Our next chance for rain returns Sunday afternoon.Â
