Carterville IL. (WSIL) -- Election day looks to be a messy one with rainfall likely for the entire forecast area. The morning and early afternoon should feature rain, some heavy, starting out west into SEMO. Through the afternoon the heart of the heaviest activity moves into SIL and the bootheel of Missouri. Towards the evening western Kentucky gets in on the action as their evening commute looks to be messy. Overall, everyone deals with a soggy and windy day so if you are headed to the polls make sure to bring plenty of rain gear with you!

After our cold front moves through we should see our winds decrease across the area and temperatures to cool off a bit. Expect consistent highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s for the remainder of the week. That front stalls to our south so we may have some cloudy days to contend with but overall small rain chances and seasonable through the end of the week.
