December 6th Evening Weather with Meteorologist Jacie Brianne

CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It will be cold and clear again through the overnight hours, but temperatures will be slightly warmer than Friday morning. Winds will turn out of the southwest and increase overnight. This will help lows hover in the low 20s, instead of the low teens.

Weekend

Overall, the weekend looks pretty nice. Abundant sunshine and much warmer temperatures are expected Saturday. It will likely be the "pick" day of the weekend. After a cold start, highs will climb back up near 50 degrees. However, it will be breezy with winds out of the south southwest, gusting near 20 mph.

Sunday will be even warmer, with highs rising back into the low to mid 50s. Before lunchtime it'll remain dry, but rain chances will increase through the afternoon and evening.  That rain will stick around into Monday, becoming more isolated.

Rainfall totals range from, a quarter of an inch to half an inch, through our northwestern counties, to more than an inch to the southeast.

Behind this system, cooler air will settle in by the middle of next week.
