...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate to major flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is now forecast to crest in moderate flood
stage near 28.5 feet Friday morning. At Murphysboro, the river is
cresting currently cresting in major flood stage near 36.4 feet.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate to Major flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.5
feet Friday morning.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.6 feet on 05/02/2017.

Heavy rain returns this evening

WSIL � It’s a cloudy, cool and dry start to the day.  Unfortunately,  heavy rain will make its way into the region this afternoon.  Rain will move in from the south with the potential for very heavy rain overnight.   Rainfall totals will likely range between an inch to two inches with locally higher amounts possible.  If you need to mow or get yard work done this morning is the best time to do so.

Temperatures will cool significantly Sunday, Sunday night into Monday morning lows are expected to dip back into the 30s.  Temperatures will make a quick rebound with highs in the low 70s by Tuesday.  

The next chance for rain returns Wednesday along with possible storms on Thursday.

Meteorologist John Ross will be back with the latest update on News 3 tonight at 5.
