53 new COVID-19 cases in Franklin, Williamson counties

(WSIL) -- Bi-County Health Department reported 53 new cases of COVID-19 in Franklin and Williamson counties Tuesday.

Twenty-nine of the cases were in Franklin County; Williamson County had 24.

The new cases come as are added to regions across the state.

New restrictions going into effect in Region 5 - Southern Illinois on Thursday, Oct. 22.

Mitigations in Region 7 - Will and Kankakee counties and Region 8 - Kane and DuPage counties take effect Friday, Oct. 23.

Region 1, in Northwestern Illinois, has been operating under tightened mitigations since Oct. 3.

ALEXANDER COUNTY

  • Two females in their 30s

Alexander County has had 105 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death. Southern Seven Health Department says 41 cases are currently active.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

  • Female: One under 10, two teens, four in their 30s, four in their 40s, three in their 50s, one in her 60s and two in their 70s
  • Male: Four teens, one in his 20s, one in his 30s, five in their 50s and one in his 70s

Bi-County Health Department reported 29 new cases of COVID-19 in Franklin County Tuesday. There have been 877 confirmed cases, including seven deaths, in the county. Bi-County says 502 of the positive cases have recovered.

GALLATIN COUNTY

  • One male in his 60s

Egyptian Health Department says the individual is at home in isolation. There have been 118 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths, in Gallatin County.

JACKSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s and one in her 40s
  • Male: Two teens, four in their 20s, one in his 30s, one in his 40s and one in his 60s

Jackson County has had 1,442 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 25 related deaths. Health officials say 95 active cases are currently being managed.

JEFFERSON COUNTY

  • Female: One under 13, one teen, one in her 20s, three in their 30s, one in her 60s and one in her 90s
  • Male: One in his 40s and one in his 70s

There have been 897 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 41 deaths, in Jefferson County. Health officials say 91 active cases are currently in isolation.

JOHNSON COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s, one in her 30s, one in her 40s, one in her 60s and one in her 70s
  • Male: One in his 20s, three in their 30s, two in their 60s and one in his 70s

Johnson County has had 349 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Southern Seven Health Department says 148 cases are currently active.

MASSAC COUNTY

  • Male: One in his 30s and one in his 40s

There have been 140 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two deaths, in Massac County. Southern Seven Health Department says 55 cases are currently active.

PERRY COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 60s
  • Male: Two in their 50s

Perry County has had 413 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 16 deaths. Perry County Health Department says 39 cases are currently active.

SALINE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 20s, two in their 40s, one in her 60s, one in her 70s and one in her 80s
  • Male: One in his 50s

Egyptian Health Department says Saline County has had 527 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including nine deaths.

UNION COUNTY

  • Female: One under 10, two in 10s and three in their 20s
  • Male: One in 10s, two in their 50s and one in his 70s

There have been 725 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 21 deaths, in Union County. Southern Seven Health Department says 236 cases are currently active.

WHITE COUNTY

  • Female: One in her 30s
  • Male: One in his 60s

According to Egyptian Health Department, White County has had 256 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including one death.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

  • Female: One toddler, one tween, one teen, three in their 30s, one in her 40s, two in their 50s, one in her 60s, one in her 70s and one in her 80s
  • Male: One tween, one teen, one in his 20s, three in their 30s, one in his 40s, one in his 50s, two in their 70s and two in their 80s

Bi-County Health Department reported 24 new cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County Tuesday. The county has had 1,752 confirmed cases, including 59 deaths. Bi-County says 1,136 of the positive cases have recovered.
