75 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths

WSIL -- Health departments in southern Illinois are reporting 75 new cases of the virus on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Officials are also confirming the deaths of two additional residents.

Franklin County:

  • Females: five in their 20’s, two in their 30’s, one in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, two in their 60’s and one in their 70’s.
  • Males: one tween, one teenager, one in their 30’s, two in their 40’s, four in their 50’s and two in their 60’s.

The health department is confirming the death of an additional resident. The person is a a female in her 60’s and puts the county at 53 lives lost.

These new cases put Franklin County at 3,902 confirmed cases and of these positives 2,331 have recovered.

Jackson County:

  • Female: 2 teens, 4 in their 20's, 2 in their 30's, 3 in their 40's, 2 in their 50's, and 1 in her 60's.
  • Male: 4 under ten, 1 teen, 2 in their 20's, 2 in their 30's, 1 in his 40's, 3 in their 50's, and 1 in his 70's.

Health officials are currently monitoring 318 active cases. To date Jackson County has had 4,186 cases to date, with 64 related deaths. So far 3,804 individuals released from isolation, including 22 Saturday.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their 20’s

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,152 lab confirmed positives, including 38 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: 1 in their 70’s
  • Male: 1 in their 40’s

White County has had a total of 1,417 lab-confirmed positives, including 23 deaths.

Williamson County:

  • Females: two toddlers, one under 10, one teenager, two in their 20’s, three in their 30’s, two in their 40’s, one in their 50’s and one in their 70’s.
  • Males: two under 10, one in their 20’s, two in their 40’s, one in their 50’s, one in their 60’s and one in their 80’s.

Health officials are confirming the death of an additional resident. The individual is a female in her 80’s, which marks the 104 deaths in the county.

To date, there have been a total of 6,341 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county and of those 3,552 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 5,343 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Saturday, including 130 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,064,667 cases, including 18,179 deaths across the state.
