...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily Heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Bi-County Health: 2 new positive cases of COVID-19

MARION (WSIL) -- Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department has reported two new positive cases of COVID-19.

The health department says the new cases are a woman in her 70s from Franklin County and a female teen from Williamson County.

In both cases, health officials say the individuals likely acquired COVID-19 from community spread and are each at home in isolation.

As of Saturday, there have been 11 positive cases of COVID-19 in Williamson County and 5 positive cases in Franklin County.
