CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- The driver services facility in Carbondale will be closed until Oct. 10 due to COVID-19.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced Monday that employees at the facility have been directed to quarantine after one employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The Secretary of State's office says the public "is not directly impacted by the employee that tested positive."
The facility is scheduled to be cleaned and sanitized according to CDC guidelines before reopening Oct. 10.
, the Secretary of State's office extended expiration dates on driver's licenses and ID cards until Feb. 1, 2021.
The extension on license plate stickers is in place until Nov. 1, 2020.
