Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels on the Big Muddy River will continue to drop, falling below
flood stage at Plumfield Sunday, and at Murphysboro Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 25.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 18.4 feet

- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
25.2 feet on 03/30/1977.

Victory Dream Center thankful for grant

CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- in Carbondale will receive a $20,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois

The money will help the center continue feeding the community.

The center's staff says they give away about 15,000 pounds of food each week.

"Our hope is to just continue to reach out in the community and meet these physical needs as well as the emotional and spiritual needs of the people," says Victory Dream Center Pastor Doug Cherry.

Food giveaways are Wednesdays from 10:30 to noon and Sundays from 12:30 to 1:30. Cherry says volunteers are always needed.

The organization also plans to start drive-thru service next week.
