(CNN) -- FEMA is going to be reimbursing families of coronavirus victims for funeral expenses beginning Monday, April 12.

The program is offering to reimburse Americans up to $9,000 dollars per funeral of a coronavirus victim. Households that have lost more than one family member to COVID-19 can receive up to $35,000.
To be eligible for assistance, FEMA lists the following conditions:
- The death must have occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
- The death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19.
- The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.
- There is no requirement for the deceased person to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien.
FEMA received $2 Billion dollars from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplement Appropriations Act of 2021.
FEMA is launching a toll-free number to provide more direct assistance to consumers.
Applicants will have to supply paperwork on funeral costs as well as cause of death.
