...Breezy South Winds Expected Through the Evening...

Sustained south winds at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph
will continue through this evening, with isolated gusts to 50 mph
possible. The strongest gusts are most likely to occur across
southeast Missouri into southwest Illinois.

Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. A few tree limbs
may also be blown down. High profile vehicles may encounter some
driving difficulty, especially on east-west roads.

Big Muddy River near Murphysboro affecting Jackson County.

Big Muddy River near Plumfield affecting Williamson and Franklin
Counties.

.Levels will continue to slowly fall on the Big Muddy River, but
remain above flood stage through next week.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Illinois surpasses 5M COVID-19 vaccines administered

(WEEK) -- State public health officials on Wednesday are announcing Illinois has had more than 5 million COVID-19 vaccines administered.

The total number of jabs stands at 5,036,364, with 107,219 given yesterday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

However, the IDPH is also reporting 2,793 new cases of the virus and 20 additional deaths.

The state's rolling positivity rate is at 3.1% and Region 5, which includes most of southern Illinois, is seeing its rate sit at 1.2%.

As of Tuesday night, 1,261 individuals in Illinois were reportedly hospitalized with COVID-19, with 269 of those in the ICU and 130 were on ventilators.
