Jackson, Jefferson, Williamson counties report new COVID-19 cases

(WSIL) -- Jackson, Jefferson and Williamson counties each reported new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

The cases in Jefferson County were the first new cases there since May 24.

The health department says two people - a man and woman each in their 30s - tested positive. There have been 106 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 14 deaths, in Jefferson County.

In Williamson County, a woman in her 90s has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department says there have been a 83 confirmed cases in Williamson County and 12 cases in Franklin County.

Of the positive cases, 59 have recovered in Williamson County, and 12 have recovered in Franklin County.

The Jackson County Health Department reported four new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

  • Female â€� One in her twenties, and one in her sixties
  • Male â€� One in his forties, and one in his sixties

There have been 316 confirmed cases in Jackson County, including 12 deaths. Of those cases, 263 individuals have been released from isolation.

On Friday, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) announced 595 new cases of COVID-19, including 77 additional confirmed deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 131,198 cases, including 6,260 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois.
