VIENNA (WSIL) -- The Shawnee Worship Center in Vienna is giving away everything you need for a Thanksgiving dinner, except the Turkey.

Volunteers will hand out 400 bags of food, each with enough to feed a family for more than one meal.

Church Pastor Casey Pollared says it is a gift of love, in a time of "great" need.

"At the heart of it, it just comes down to this; we're never more like Jesus than when we're serving people," Pollared explains. "There's such a need in Vienna, in Johnson County and the surrounding counties."

Everyone is welcome as the church continues to support its community.

"I don't know what anybody else is doing, but for us and our church, we're going to do that: we're going to serve people, we're going to love people and we're going to help them every chance we get," says Pollared.

A drive-thru process will keep the event contact free.

Organizers say, drivers and passengers must wear a mask during the pick up.

Only one bag per household is allowed with up to two households per vehicle.

The giveaway is Monday, November 23rd from 1 to 3 p.m.
