(WEEK) -- Illinois community health centers will be receiving millions of dollars in funding from the American Rescue Plan to help in COVID-19 prevention and treatment efforts.
In all,聽聽will be distributed to community health centers throughout Illinois to support and expand COVID-19 vaccination, testing and treatment efforts for vulnerable populations.
Rural Health in Anna is set to receive $2,629,125 with Community Health and Emergency Services, Inc. in Carbondale to receive $1,080,625 in funding.
Carterville's Shawnee Health Service will receive $5,543,000 as Christopher Rural Health is allotted $6,279,500.
The funding will be awarded beginning in April by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
The funding will also be used to expand health centers鈥� operational capacity during the pandemic and beyond, including modifying and improving physical infrastructure and adding mobile units.聽
