WHITTINGTON (WSIL) -- To help senior citizens during the "stay at home" order one local restaurant has started its own curbside service.

The "stay at home" order has created obstacles for those trying to get their next meal, like the elderly.

"We know that those people are in and they stay in and that they have a hard time. A lot of people are on fixed-incomes can only get out once a month to get groceries," said Anthony Heinrich's mother, Beth Sandusky.

Tino's on the Tee decided to deliver meals to some grateful local seniors.

"That means that we have a meal that we don't have to worry about. We can come and pick it up and that is so great," said senior Mary Harvey.

With the help of volunteers, Tino's served 150 meals.

"Well, it just, it helps us to feel like we're giving back. And everyone we delivered to so far--we're picking up some more-- has very much appreciated it," said volunteer Cindy Britton.

And recieved monetary donations from the community.

"We will take all that money and put it toward our next goal of being able to feed people again," said Sandusky.

Tino's says this is also a time for local restaurants to continue to help one another.

"You know, we've got the hashtag "support local" going around Facebook right now to where--everyone thinks all these restaurants are in competition with each other, but right now, we're trying to support them as they support us," said Tino's on the Tee owner Anthony Heinrich.

Tino's on the Tee plans to have another meal event in two weeks.
