MARION (WSIL) -- The Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department reports聽its second COVID-19 related death.
Health officials say the man was in his 50s and had underlying health conditions.
No other details about the case have been released at this time.
The county confirmed its first COVID-related death on , a man in his 60s. He contracted the disease through an outbreak at a workplace outside of the county.
As of May 24, there have been a total of 56 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county and 11 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19.
Of these positive cases, 44 have recovered in Williamson county and 10 have recovered in Franklin county.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), there were 2,508 new cases of Coronavirus disease across the state on Sunday and an additional 67 fatalities.
