WEST CITY, Ill., (WSIL) -- The West City Fire Department is holding a spaghetti dinner to benefit one of their own battling breast cancer. You can stop by the American Legion/VFW in Benton on Monday, October 7, 2024, to get a full spaghetti dinner and help their cause.

West City Fire Fighter, Jamie Atchison King, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The funds generated with the benefit will go to the King family to help with unexpected expenses.

The event runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Benton American Legion/VFW. Organizers say, along with the full dinner, there will also be a 50/50 raffle, basket raffle and pre-orders for t-shirts.

The spaghetti dinner comes with salad, bread, drink and dessert. Adults can get the full meal for $12, while kids ages 12 and under can eat for $8.

If you would like additional information about the event, or would like to make a donation, you can contact Kyler Smith at (618) 927-2032.
