MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- We're back in the animal shelter this week
trying to help one of our four-legged friends find their 'Furever Home.'
Meet Beef Master, a young pup in Murphysboro looking for his furever family.
"Beef Master is nine months old. He was adopted as a puppy and just returned," explains Diane Daugherty, President of the Board at St. Francis CARE.
Daugherty says Beef Master was recently brought back to the shelter because of COVID-19 hardships. "A lost job with the COVID situation and moving but he is so sweet. He's very odd looking. He's listed as a chihuahua boxer mix but we've decided he has some corgi in him because he's got that look. He has this big head and these little bitty short legs."
Beef Master's short legs aren't going to get any longer. Daugherty says he's full grown. "He came in Friday so he hasn't been here very long but he's already warmed up to everybody and he's very playful. He's been in the lobby playing and carrying on so he can, I think he's going to be able to be trained to be adaptable to any kind of home environment."
Daugherty says Beef Master may require somre refresher training but he's very smart. "The boxer is a very smart breed. All dogs are trainable. You just have to work with them and have a little patience. That's the key with any animal or kid. I think patience is the key."
Due to the on going pandemic all meet and greets require an appointment.
"He loves everybody. He's going to make a wonderful family pet," say Daugherty.
