TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

All lanes open on U.S. 51 Cairo bridge

PADUCAH, KY (WSIL) -- Lane restrictions on U.S. 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge between Kentucky and Illinois have been lifted. All lanes are now open.

The bridge was closed due to contractors doing detailed inspections. The climbers conducting their work finished their last round of work Saturday night.

The inspection lifted five days earlier than expected.
