CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- It has been another beautiful day across the region. High temperatures stayed in the upper 70s and low 80s, accompanied by low humidity. Cool temperatures are expected overnight, with lows dipping into the 50s.
Wednesday will bring more fall-like weather. High temperatures will stay below average, only topping out the upper 70s and low 80s again. The humidity will also stay in check, making it the perfect day to get outside.Â
By Thursday temperatures begin their slow warming trend. Highs will climb back into the low 80s, which is still comfortable for this time of year.
The mid-level ridge or "heat dome", out west, will begin to move east through the end of the week. This will bring back the summer heat by the weekend. High temperatures will climb back up into the low 90s.Â
While some areas could use some rainfall, that continues to look unlikely. Dry conditions are expected through the end of the week, and potentially into early next week.Â
