MARION, ILLINOIS (WSIL) -- Consume Cannabis Company celebrates the completion of a months-long renovation project with a grand reopening.
Hundreds made their way through the doors Saturday for special gifts, sales, and discounts to mark the occasion.
Renovations began in May as the business decided they needed more room inside the building, keeping customers from waiting in front of the building for their turn to enter.
A new entry, waiting area and dispensing floor have all been been updated to be more spacious as people shop for their cannabis and cannabis-related products.
Lori Ellis, who is the ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois Regional Director for Consume Cannabis, says the expansion also brings more jobs to the region.
"It was just the right thing to do, the right time and it's been a long summer, but I can tell you that the result was worth it," she explains. "One great thing that has come out of this renovation is, we were able to almost triple our staff."
A cannabis consumption lounge rumored for Carbondale may soon become a reality. Ellis would only say with the Marion project officially complete "it's time to move on to the next one."
