PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) â€ Paducah city officials are reminding the public of current construction which could hinder travel near the city's riverfront.Â
The current work zone is between the flood wall openings on North 2nd Street and Executive Boulevard.Â
The city says drivers are not permitted to drive on the Greenway Trail between the Paducah-McCracken County Convention & Expo Center and the transient dock area.Â
The trail is open to pedestrians and cyclists, however residents are urged to use caution.Â
This is all part of the city's Riverfront Infrastructure Project, or BUILD Grant, which began in November 2024.
City officials say the $10 million project includes upgrades to the city's riverboat access, bike and pedestrian lanes and flood wall.Â
The city says the full project is expected to be complete by 2027.Â
