7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ today to 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Big Muddy Brewery begins producing personal protection equipment

MURPHYSBORO (WSIL) -- For those in need of personal protection, Big Muddy Brewery is now making hand sanitizer.

The local business started donating and selling the sanitizer on Tuesday and says the demand has been overwhelming.

Founder Chuck Steuhrenberg says the brewery is also selling face masks.

He says it was important to join other facilities combating PPE shortages.

"This is an all out war and everybody needs to be fighting it and we all have the opportunity to fight against it through social distancing, hand sanitizers, face masks," he said.

The brewery is also working to safely reopen it's patio for customers in a few weeks.
