CAVE-IN-ROCK, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Cave-in-Rock Ferry is closing down due to high river levels on Wednesday.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - District 1, stated the ferry will close at 6 p.m. on February 19, and will be closed until further notice.
The ferry plans to reopen when river levels start to decrease.
The Ohio River gauge at Shawneetown is at 40.04 feet as of 3:30 p.m. on February 19. The river is forecasted to crest at 12 p.m. on February 24.
