CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Christopher Elementary School alerted the public on Wednesday morning about dismissing early due to unexpected water issues.
The school dismissed at 9 a.m. on the morning of February 12, and stated this was due to not knowing when the water would be turned back on by.
The Rend Lake Conservancy District spent the day on February 11, making a repair to a line which fed water to multiple communities.
In an update at 8:46 p.m. on Tuesday, a member with the Rend Lake Conservancy stated they experienced issues and they expected to restore water service to their customers on Wednesday morning.
The Rend Lake Conservancy District representative also stated they anticipated the Village of Mulkeytown and City of Christopher will exhaust their services and lose pressure in their water systems on Tuesday night.
A contractor and utility crew was working overnight to restore services to their customers as quickly as possible. The water district representative said they sincerely apologize to their customers for any inconveniences.Â
