Hundreds out of power in Gallatin County

SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: 3:54 p.m. - More than two hundred are now out of power in Gallatin County after 500 customers were recently restored.

Ameren reports 231 out of power as of 3:45 p.m., while Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative reports 1 outage.

ORIGINAL: 3:24 p.m. - More than 700 customers were left in the dark in Gallatin County as storms rolled through the area Thursday afternoon.

As of 3:26 p.m., on April 10, a total of 735 customers were out across the county. This includes 732 Ameren customers and 3 Southeastern Illinois Electric Cooperative customers.

At the time of the outage, severe thunderstorms were moving through the region, bringing with it high winds, rain and lots of lightning.
