Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Armed and Dangerous Suspect wanted in Saline County teen’s homicide

UPDATE: 7:15 p.m.

The Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) - Zone 8 is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Alexander McWilliam. 

McWilliam is wanted in connection to the March 13, 2021 shooting death of Mishealia M. Meredith.

36-year-old McWilliam's is described as 5�10� and weighs approximately 215 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

McWilliam is considered armed and dangerous. 

The public is cautioned, if they see McWilliam or know his current whereabouts, DO NOT approach him � immediately call 911.

The investigation is being led by the ISP DCI � Zone 8 and is still open and ongoing.  No further information will be disseminated at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY

(WSIL) -- The Gallatin County coroner's office has confirmed that Mishealia Meredith was found in rural Gallatin County.

Gallatin County Coroner Tony Cox says he was called to a scene near North Pool Road around North Fork Township, just after 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

No crime scene evidence at the scene indicated how her body may have ended up in a farm field. The area was incredibly rural with the nearest home up to a 1/2 mile away.

An autopsy was performed on Tuesday, but the cause of death is not yet available.
