...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is currently cresting near 28.1 feet. At
Murphysboro, the river has crested and started a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 20.7 feet
Thursday, April 17.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
28.0 feet on 04/03/1985.

Death investigation underway in Herrin, Williamson County Major Case Squad activated

HERRIN, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities in Williamson County are investigating a death in Herrin on Wednesday night.

The Herrin Police Department said they responded to the 600-block of N. 13th Street in Herrin on November 20, for a person who was unresponsive. A short time later, this person was pronounced dead by the Williamson County Coroner.

The Herrin Police Investigations Unit were then contacted to investigate.

The Williamson County Major Case Squad was also activated to investigate the matter. They are now being assisted by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene unit.

A News 3 crew was on scene after police arrived at the home on Wednesday night. Police tape was up around the home and officers had the area secure.

Police said there is no threat to public safety as this is an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
