ELDORADO, Ill. (WSIL) -- An employee of Eldorado CUSD 4 was arrested Tuesday morning after allegedly engaging in inappropriate contact with a student, according to a statement from the Eldorado School district.
The employee, described as non-certified by the district, was detained by police.
Illinois State Police (ISP) started investigating the matter after the Eldorado Police Department requested their assistance.
ISP stated Isaac Murray was a teacher aide in the Eldorado School District. ISP also said the Saline County State's Attorney's Office filed charges of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, Aggravated Kidnapping and Kidnapping against Murray.
The school district emphasized its commitment to student safety and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
"The District values and recognizes the safety and well-being of our students as a top priority," said Superintendent Ryan Hobbs. "Moreover, the district takes all matters related to student safety extremely seriously."
Hobbs urged community members with concerns or relevant information to contact local law enforcement or the school district.
Due to the ongoing nature of the criminal and personnel matter, the district may not disclose further details at this time.
"We appreciate your continued partnership and understanding," Hobbs said. "Thank you for entrusting us with the care and education of your child."
