EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) Two people are facing burglary charges after police say their vehicles got stuck in the snow while committing the crime.

Officers say they were called to a home on Old Boonville Highway near Morgan and Green River around 11 a.m. on Monday to investigate a burglary.

According to EPD, the person who called 911 had gone to the home to check on it after the winter storm, only to discover two vehicles stuck in the snow and a truck attempting to help pull them out.

Police say Matthew Ingle and Madelyn Brewer were reportedly at the scene, but that Ingle had ran off towards the Quality Inn nearby.

The victim went inside to check on the home, and noticed that things were missing. They say they looked in the back of Brewer's vehicle, and saw some of their belongings inside.

Police took Brewer into custody, and tracked Ingle to the Quality Inn.  They say Ingle was found inside and detained.

EPD says Ingle and Brewer were taken in for questioning, but that Ingle refused to talk. However, they saw Brewer told them she saw Ingle bust out a window to gain entry to the home, and carry things outside.

Both Ingle and Brewer were booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on burglary charges.
