MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities have captured a man they say was wanted on a charge in Williamson County.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office first alerted the public on Wednesday, March 19, about two people wanted on charges.

One of them was Sergio Mendoza-Davis, 25 of Marion, who was wanted on a Possession Amt Con Sub charge.

On Friday, the sheriff's office said they captured him and accused him of taunting law enforcement.

The sheriff's office said two undercover agents, along with the Carbondale Strategic Response Unit, met with Mendoza-Davis for a deposit on two t-shirts on March 21, at 2:48 p.m.

At this point, he was then taken into custody and then taken to jail.

“While we are dedicated to apprehending all fugitives; when you attempt to create a mockery of your obligations to the court we are more than willing to facilitate the extra effort needed to hold criminals accountable, stated Sheriff Jeff Diederich.
