Five face charges after search of home yields drugs, gun and paraphernalia, sheriff's office reports

MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Five people were arrested and face drug charges after law enforcement serve a search warrant at a home in Whiteash on Thursday.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said personnel with their office served a search warrant at a home at 13283 Route 37 in the small community of Whiteash, just north of Marion at 11:36 a.m. on October 17.

The sheriff's office said this home is part of a multi-state narcotics operation in regards to a five month investigation, where drug activity was documented, including methemphetamine sales to residents of Williamson County.

“The intelligence gathered regarding this residence, its occupants, and their associates has disclosed that these drug operations also extend beyond Williamson County and outside of Illinois.�, stated Sheriff Jeff Diederich.
