Former Juvenile Justice Correctional Officer Charged with Two Counts of Criminal Abuse

PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- A former correctional officer faces charges after he was accused of using excessive force on two juveniles in separate cases.

Kentucky State Police (KSP) said they were requested by the Department of Juvenile Justice to investigate after two separate incidents were reported on October 15, 2024, at the McCracken Regional Detention Center.

KSP said they arrested former correctional officer Tyler Lynn, 30 of Paducah, on March 6, after the investigation was presented to a grand jury on February 28, resulting in an indictment.

Former Captain Lynn was accused of using excessive force which led to two male juveniles sustaining fractures to their arms, Kentucky State Police said an investigation determined.

State police said Lynn was charged with two counts of 2nd degree Criminal Abuse.

Tyler Lynn was booked at the McCracken County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. 

According to online court records, Lynn is scheduled for an arraignment on March 20, 2025.
