- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,

- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Jefferson County man sentenced to decades for possessing child pornography

(WSIL) -- A Jefferson County man will spend decades behind bars for possessing child pornography.

On Thursday, 46-year-old Gregory Garrison, of Mt. Vernon, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for possession of child pornography with a victim under 13.

This sentence was a result of a complaint generated on August 25th, 2020 by the Mt. Vernon Police Department, who asked Jefferson County Sheriff's Office detectives to assist in the investigation.
