JACKSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- Jackson County State’s Attorney Joseph A. Cervantez announced Friday a Murphysboro man is facing animal cruelty charges.
Felony charges of animal cruelty have been filed against 22-year-old Jacob K. Spradling. Spradling was arrested on Wednesday and released on a $50,000 bond.
State’s Attorney Cervantez emphasized that “charges are not evidence of guilt—a defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which this office has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Cervantez added, “complaints of animal cruelty will continue to be taken very seriously by my administration.
Details regarding the arrest and future court dates are pending.Â
