One arrested in shooting investigation in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) -- In an update, police in Carbondale released more information in relation to a shooting which took place on March 11.

The Carbondale Police Department said officers responded to the 400-block of South Lake Heights for some reports of gunshots fired. It was earlier reported a male juvenile was shot and was treated on scene by EMS.

The suspect was identified as Kionte Scott, 19 of Chicago. Police said Scott was arrested and charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Scott was then taken to the Jackson County Jail.
