...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON CDT /1 PM EDT/ TODAY TO 6
PM CDT /7 PM EDT/ THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Northwest winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph
expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...From noon CDT /1 PM EDT/ today to 6 PM CDT /7 PM EDT/ this
evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds and rough waves on area lakes will create
hazardous conditions for small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The Lake Wind Advisory includes all of
western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southwest Indiana. It
also includes the following counties in southeast Missouri:
Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry, Scott,
and Stoddard.

One injured in Perryville shooting

PERRYVILLE, MO (WSIL) -- One person is in custody and another injured in a late-night shooting.

Perryville police and the Perry County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of W. South St. in Perryville at 11:32 p.m. on Thursday, January 2.

Around the same time, A man walked into the Perryville Police Department with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Cape Girardeau Hospital with serious injuries.

Officers arrested a family member of the victim at the residence where the shooting took place.

The incident is under investigation and we will share updates as they become available.
