Big Muddy River near Plumfield and near Murphysboro

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River. At
Plumfield, the river is currently cresting near 28.1 feet. At
Murphysboro, the river has crested and started a very slow fall.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

One person dead, two arrested after Hayti, MO stabbing

HAYTI, Mo (WSIL) -- One person has died after being stabbed in Pemiscot County, Missouri.

On Saturday, July 10 around 11:20 p.m. the Hayti Police Department was called to a disturbance in the 500 block of East McKinley Street.

When officers arrived, they learned a 35-year-old Hayti man was stabbed and allegedly struck by a vehicle. He was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital where he later died.

During the investigation, police arrested 30-year-old Jimmy Bridges, of Caruthersville, and 28-year-old Elizabeth Bridges, of Hayti.

Jimmy Bridges is now charged with murder 1st degree and armed criminal action. Elizabeth Bridges is charged with assault 1st degree and armed criminal action.
