MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities said one suspect is in custody and they are searching for two other suspects in connection to burglary and stolen property cases.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said their deputies responded to some overnight burglaries on February 15, on Lady Bug Lane and Dragon Fly Lane in the northwest part of Williamson County.
The sheriff's office said multiple items were stolen, including guns, personal identification, debit/credit cards and clothing. Authorities said they looked at video, collected evidence and identified a suspect as William Alexander Reed of Carterville.
On March 4, deputies went to locate Reed in the 100-block of California Street in Carterville. The sheriff's office said they found an unoccupied stolen vehicle near Reed's home.
Later in the day, the sheriff's office said they came back to the home and were able to get permission to search the residence by the owner and then found Reed hiding in a bathroom shower.
Reed was taken into custody and cited with a Burglary charge.
Later in the day, the sheriff's office said they got a search warrant at the home and deputies found firearms, computers, personal identification, credit/debit cards, other personal items, drugs, drug paraphernalia, hypodermic syringes and digital scales.
The sheriff's office said they believe these stolen items are connected to nearly a dozen open burglary cases in Williamson County.

Reed was taken to the Williamson County Jail. Authorities also said Reed was previously charged for theft on October 18, 2024, and was released in accordance to the Safe-T-Act.

The sheriff's office said two other suspects, along with Reed, used a stolen debit/credit card at the Raawi's General Store on February 15, 2025, at 2:30 a.m. The sheriff's office asks the public if they know who these suspects are, to call the Williamson County Sheriff's Office at 618-997-6541.
