Police arrest Union City woman in murder outside nail salon

MARTIN, Tenn. (WSIL) -- A Union City, Tennessee woman is sitting in jail Thursday accused of murder after a fight turned to gunfire outside a Martin nail salon.

It happen at 4:03 p.m. Wed. in the parking lot of Luxury Nail Salon, located at 200 N. Lindell St.

Martin Police Assistant Chief Philip Fuqua tells News 3 a responding officer arrested Ashley Brown, 29, and recovered the handgun on scene she allegedly used to shoot the victim.

EMS units took the victim to a hospital where she later died. She is identified as Alisha Gadlen, 41, of Martin.

Fuqua said the third woman involved in the shooting was the victim's daughter.

Fuqua said investigators are trying to determine the nature of the dispute between the women in that parking lot and if it was ongoing.

Brown was transported to the Weakley County Detention Center where she has been charged with second degree murder.
